"Their Eyes Were Watching God" Quizzes

This product contains 6 reading quizzes with 6 answers keys for Zora Neale Hurston's novel "Their Eyes Were Watching God."

Each quiz is designed to be given after reading a certain amount of chapters. The quizzes are all 10 questions, fitting on a single page because they are in 2-column format. In total, there are 60 quiz questions.

The quiz questions are mixed between multiple-choice and true-false questions. Some questions are simple about-the-text questions, while other questions do make students use higher order thinking skills.

The intent of the quizzes is to make sure students are doing their reading, help to see who is understanding what is going on in the novel, and to help lead class discussions.

The quizzes are broken down as follow:

Quiz 1: Ch. 1-4

Quiz 2: Ch. 5-6

Quiz 3: Ch. 7-11

Quiz 4: Ch. 12-15

Quiz 5: Ch. 16-18

Quiz 6: Ch. 19-20

Quiz Answer Keys

The answer key for each quiz is a single page that looks like the quiz except that the answers are all in bold, which will make it easy for you to see the questions, all answers to choose from, as well as the correct answers.

Word and PDF

All documents come in Word and in PDF; therefore, there are 12 total pages.

Since all documents come in Word, you may edit them in any manner you choose.

Quiz Length

Each quiz should take the average student about 7 to 8 minutes to complete. Students who excel may complete each quiz in 4 to 6 minutes, while students who have more difficulty reading may take between 10 and 13 minutes.
