Description

This resource has been designed for the NEW New South Wales (NESA) English curriculum, to be taught from 2023. While the resource will be suitable for a range of students in different contexts being introduced to Shakespeare for the first time, the outcomes are aligned to the NSW Stage 4 English syllabus.

The resource is designed to include a wide range of interactive and engaging learning experiences for students to explore the life and world of Shakespeare, as well as to begin to play and decode aspects of the language of his plays.

This unit of work has been broken into Topics, themed around different ideas and with a range of learning activities within them. The length of time these will take will vary depending on context and timetables, but on average each topic should be allocated roughly one week of learning time.

Notes pages have been added throughout to allow teachers to make notes on differentiation, changes and ideas as they plan. A Teacher Evaluation page is also available to assist with Registration and reflection.

Links are provided through the document for teachers using a digital copy, but links are also described so they can be easily searched if using a paper copy.
