Description

My kids love learning about the Water Cycle! For many of my young students, it seems magical! "How does the water get from "down here" to "up there?"

This unit includes some of the activities that we do every year, but there are many more that you can add to your study.

Have you ever built an Ice Castle with your kids? I teach in Southern California where there is very little precipitation so we need to be creative! Every January we build a beautiful Ice Castle using ice shapes that the kids have brought from home. Last year, a mom sent “shaved ice” to build a small snowman, carrot nose and all! As we watch our Ice Castle and snowman melt, we discuss Evaporation and Accumulation. Both parents and kids love learning about the water cycle.

I’ve listed the contents of the unit below, but I suggest that you take a peek at the PREVIEW to get a better idea of the materials that are in the packet.

* The Water Cycle Song Poster

* The Water Cycle Booklet (14 half pgs) in Color and B&W
with student questions.

* The Water Cycle “Test” paper … appropriate for 1st grade or high kinders

* Rotating Raindrop Poster

* Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, Accumulation, Posters in Color and B&W.

* Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, Accumulation, Mini-Posters for students.

* Water Cycle Wheel in Color and B&W. The kids love making this wheel and taking it home to share with their families!
