The US Constitution

A multi-slide SmartBoard Notebook file that contains instructions and prompts for a role-play based on the US Constitutional Congress. Students take on the role of a state delegation and make lists of proposals on the various areas of the US Constitution, such as the Presidency, representation by population vs. equal representation, etc. Then students can follow up with any reading on the real outcomes, including the infamous "3/5 Compromise" and other items to learn how the US system of government functions. The final slides ask students to draw a diagram of how a bill becomes a law in the US system. All slides can be converted to PDF format if you prefer to use them as handouts. Originally used with a 10th Grade pre-IB class.
