Description
The Tell-Tale Heart is a short story by Edgar Allen Poe. This reader's theater adaptation of this scary tale will get your students thinking more deeply as they take on the roles of the narrator, old man, and the police officer.
Reader’s Theater is one of my favorite tools to utilize in my middle school classroom. While I have listed the grades 6-8 common core standards that this resource covers, Reader’s Theater directly improves fluency and comprehension. In addition, Reader’s Theater allows students the opportunity to climb inside of a character and gain a different perspective. While you can read through a passage just one time, students gain a greater understanding and build fluency when they read the text multiple times.
Included in this NO PREP, PRINT & GO reader's theater toolkit is:
- 3-character script
- context clue word work
- multiple choice reader response questions
- extended response multiple choice questions
- 3-journal prompts
Your students will love reading this high-interest script while navigating essential reading literature standards.
