The Talk It Out Table

Teach students to solve their conflicts independently using this resource in English and Spanish. The Talk It Out Table can be a table or a desk where students go to talk out their problems they have with another student. Students use a 6 step process with sentence strands to develop their communication and problem solving skills. The students can refer to the feelings chart and solutions chart as resources in directing their communication. A Talk It Out Table Log and Reflection sheet are provided to keep students accountable by having them record their conflict and solution. The Parent Teacher Conference Notes sheet provides the teacher with an opportunity to document how many times a student has visited the table with other students in case there is an ongoing conflict that needs to be addressed. I believe this resource is helpful in building classroom community and reducing behavior problems.
