This is a 12-paged, farm-themed, interactive emergent reader designed for Kindergarten emphasizing subtraction from numbers of five or less in the context of word problems. The rhyming text and the pictures help the student write an equation to match the text. Here is a sample of the text: "_ apples on an apple tree. . .Along came Horse and he ate _! Now how many are left for me?" The student fills in the blanks with the number of apples he sees in the pictures above the text.
