Description

This Snow Unit is perfect for the cold winter months. It starts off with a vocabulary lesson and activity teaching students to use context clues to discover the meaning of unknown words. During the read aloud of The Story of Snow students focus on text features and complete a KWL as they learn interesting facts about snow. After the read aloud they complete a snowflake cycle diagram craft that is perfect for a winter bulletin board.

Next, you read a Types of Snowflakes presentation to the class. As students follow along, they complete their own booklet. After students learn about snowflakes, they follow a simplified process to brainstorm, plan, design, and reflect on their very own snowflake creation using Q-tips and marshmallows.
