Description

Its been all about the slime for a few years now. Kids never seem to get tired of it. With this activity, students can explore how slime is actually a very important part of our natural world. Slime is found in nature and used by many organisms! Using The Natural History Museum's Science of Slime webpage and this webquest, students will learn how slime is used in nature and how scientist study various organisms that rely on slime! Students will be introduced to various careers in science that focus on slime! This would also be alot of fun during an animal unit, especially invertebrates! There are many videos to watch and this notes guide allows students to follow along as they work through the website. There is a lower elementary handout, a KWL chart and a upper elementary and middle handout. They are all included. Depending on your class or the makeup of your students, one may be better suited than the other. The students will then make their own slime! The NHM has a downloaded slime instruction sheet that should be used along with this webquest. The materials to make slime are listed there.
