The Promise of Light Christmas Book Study
- PDF
Description
This book study is a two week companion to The Promise and the Light: A Christmas Retelling by Katy Morgan (ISBN-10 1784986615), a book written in narrative form from the viewpoints of Mary, Joseph and Zechariah. This retelling of the Christmas story gives readers a firsthand glimpse of what it may have been like during the biblical times and how the major players in the well-known story may have thought, felt and acted. As in any retelling, the author takes some liberties to add characters, conversations and events that are completely fictional, but she is also careful to explain this and the study helps readers identify what parts of each reading is biblically accurate and what parts are fictional.
This companion story gives Biblical text to go along with the reading, includes reading comprehension questions and some copywork. It can be used in the 15 school days leading up to Christmas break or it can be used as an advent study if read a chapter a day and only do the work associated with the chapter instead of broken down by days.
