What educators are saying

My film theory students did a deep dive into Nightmare Before Christmas. This was a perfect resource for them to do during their deep dive.

Description

The following seven-page study guide film packet that can be used in an English, film studies, or media studies class is used to accompany Henry Selick's 1993 stop motion Christmas contemporary classic "Tim Burton's The Nightmare before Christmas." The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three, four, five, and six contain comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's allusions, camera movement, characterization, character archetypes, cinematography, conflict, editing, figurative language, foreshadowing, inferences, irony, mise en scene, movement, plot, production or set design, setting, sound, story, and themes. The seventh page contains discussion questions on the work's characterization, legacy, style, and themes.

A multiple choice quiz that can be used as a summative assessment with this packet, a formative assessment, is available as a separate purchase by clicking here.
