These stations give a general understanding of the Renaissance period. Students will take a tour of Italy by exploring the important city-states during the time period and will also look into the Medici Family while here. Then, students will learn about the focus of the period-- individualism and humanism. Next, students will get to know the different the famous Renaissance artists.

Included in this activity is station #4 which can be collected as a completely separate grade if needed. This station is where students will choose one of the Renaissance artist and create an Instagram profile for them. All instructions are posted in the Google Drive folder for this activity. This includes a free Instagram template!

Students create a Fakebook profile for a Renaissance artist. This resource includes a live link to a website that helps guide them in their research, as well as step by step instructions on how to complete the profile, and the Fakebook handout.

• How the Renaissance Changed the World Article Analysis (FREEBIE!)

This resource is a great way to break up a text into excerpts so it is more digestible. Students will read a variety of excerpts that help them understand how the Renaissance changed the world and answering guided questions to check for understanding. At the end they will summarize all of the ideas and conclusions they have learned from the excerpts to answer the question: How did the Renaissance change the world?

• Scientific Revolution & The Enlightenment Historical Figure Social Gathering Simulation

This simulation covers the historical figures for the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment. Students do independent research and "become" one of these historical figures to prepare themselves for a "social gathering" with the other historical figures!

Students mingle throughout the room to learn about these major players in the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment to find out small details like where they were born to what they contributed to their respected event!
