What educators are saying

This resource was a great filler for a text that I haven't taught in a while. It was good to be able to use this resource in conjunction with the materials I created in the past.
THis resource has everything I was looking for. It was well put together. THis is a resource that I will be using time and time again.

    Description

This bundle contains everything you need to teach Kafka's The Metamorphosis and the theory of existentialism to your ELA students, including:

    • A differentiated, jigsaw-style lesson to introduce existentialism
    • Guided reading notes, explaining important plot events and themes as students read
    • Materials, including questions and a rubric, to conduct a Socratic Seminar
    • An editable 35-point unit test

These materials are designed to last 5-6 days with the novella taking 3 days to read, but pacing can easily be changed. Nearly each file is editable and available in Microsoft Works (Word and PowerPoint) form.

Please note, the notes and test are based on the Dover Thrift version of The Metamorphosis, which split the novella into three parts. Other versions may require slight edits.
