The Magic Flute Lesson Plan

I love the book, “The Magic Flute” retold by Anne Gatti and illustrated by Peter Malone. The edition that I bought comes with a CD with sample music from the opera! I like to scan the picture from the book and show them on the powerpoint as I (or students) tell the story.

This lesson takes about an hour and a half: to go through Mozart’s life, have students complete the worksheet and then to tell the story of the opera. Add more time to show snippets of the opera. (the Met has a great DVD out of it – I love the monster!)
