Description

Please Note: This comparative analysis requires access to an OpenAI account in which students, or a guided lesson by the teacher, can interact with ChatGPT.

This easy-to-use activity is simple yet effective. Here’s what your class will do:

  • Compare the 'AC' in The Last Question with ChatGPT
  • Engage with 6 high-level, short answer questions
  • Explore the the terminology of ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer)
  • Ask a series of questions to ChatGPT and compare its answers with how the AC answered those questions in Isaac Asimov's The Last Question
  • Discuss the differences between these two examples of AI and ask students which one they would rather use if they could choose to be in Isaac Asimov's fictional world
  • Debate, discuss and share students opinions on how ChatGPT and the future of AI may affect our lives in the next few years, decades and a century
