Description

Comprehensive, day-by-day lesson plans for The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Part I: Life. Helps students explore major themes of deontological ethics vs. utilitarianism, racism, medical ethics, poverty, and immortality and legacy and offers insights into a lesser-known and dark period of American history. Lesson plans are structured with a Do No activity, daily reading assignments and reading comprehension questions, as well as supplemental reading articles designed to show modern-day examples of topics from the book. Also includes an anticipation guide, ongoing project with a rubric, link to a free documentary with questions paired with the videos, multiple quizzes and a cumulative test (both with a graded version for the teacher) and numerous activities that will help give students the full appreciation of the book. This took months to develop and will eliminate any work you could imagine doing for this book. Impossible not to find activities of value here.
