The Hunger Games Unit Plan: 300+ pages of Activities, Quizzes, & More

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a great classroom novel that is sure to intrigue students. This large unit plan for The Hunger Games includes several activity packs to help guide your class through the novel. It includes a reading activity pack; a reading comprehension question pack; a vocabulary pack; a writing journal pack; a multiple-choice quiz pack; a chapter summary pack; and a list of Panem words/definitions. All packs are composed of handouts that can be copied and passed out to students. These packs contain lesson plans for The Hunger Games that are prepared for immediate classroom reproduction and use. The activity pack reviews literary elements such as figurative language (similes, metaphors, and personification), imagery, characterization and much more (download the sample to see a full table of contents). The worksheets all tie into the novel and are ready to copy and distribute to students. These handouts are great to help students discover and review the literary elements hidden within The Hunger Games. This unit plan includes a total of 61 pages, nineteen handouts in total (including answer keys), that are sure to be useful in any classroom teaching The Hunger Games. •THE HUNGER GAMES READING COMPREHENSION PACK: This reading comprehension question packet for The Hunger Games contains one set of questions for each chapter of the book. Each worksheet is composed of ten to twenty short-answer questions that students can answer chronologically as they read each chapter. A teacher answer key for each chapter handout is included. The twenty-seven discussion-question handouts are ready to print, copy, and distribute to students, requiring very little teacher preparation time.
