What educators are saying

Perfect resource for my film analysis. This was great to use with my class and kept my students engaged.
This resource was well laid out and easy to use. I used it as the basis for our film study. It worked well.

Description

The following eight-page study guide film packet is used to accompany the Gary Ross-directed 2012 dystopian fiction film, "The Hunger Games." It can be used in an English or film studies classroom. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three, four, five, and six are comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's camera movement, cinematography, costume design, editing, plot, story, style, symbolism, and themes. The seventh page is a genre study, analyzing what aspects of dystopian fiction are in the film. Finally, the eighth contain discussion questions on the work's characterization, ideologies, plot/story, and themes. While this packet can be completed by students who haven't read the novel, there are many questions that contain compare and contrast questions about the novel and its film adaptation.
