This guide is common core aligned and created for middle school students. I chose 7th grade standards, but since the standards build on each other from year to year, it would work well for other grades as well.
The guide includes questions on how setting affects plot, how an author develops a theme, and a short-constructed response contrasting characters' points of view. It's legit, you guys. If your admin walks in, you can even tell him/her it's SBAC prep, because of the short-constructed response.
