There are also two roaring 20s project options for differentiation. Both include a project sheet with editable requirements and a grading rubric!

The 1920s Research and Multimedia Project contains the following:

  • Access to a 1920s Project Google Site with rich images and photos from the 20s decade. Access is optional and information on the site is also included on student handouts.
  • A collaborative Think-Pair-Share Activity that uses primary sources to introduce students to relevant 1920s topics.
  • An editable Student Research Packet containing a list of suggested research topics, project guidelines, and research links
  • Research Note-Taking Chart with guiding prompts and optional source citation
  • Two Research Project Options - Create a 1920s Adobe Express Video with researched facts, images, and media or create a multimedia slideshow using Google Slides
  • Final Project handouts with requirements and grading rubrics for each
  • One link access to 50 bookmarked websites featuring the 1920s research topic options
  • Google Slides Tutorial on How to Create a Video Using the Free Adobe Express website

After conducting research and saving relevant images, students will showcase their learning by creating a multimedia slideshow. The TWO project options allow for differentiation (with two separate teacher grading rubrics and student directions)!

The first option is to create a research-based video slideshow using the Adobe Express website. Adobe Express is free to use and user-friendly. A how-to video link and slides tutorial are included - along with a project example! This sample engaging multimedia slideshow was created specifically for this project.

The second option is to create a 1920s Research-Based Multimedia Slideshow using Google Slides. Students will include relevant media (such as video or music) in their slides presentation.

From start to finish, this comprehensive research project allows students to be creative while also showcasing their research and learning!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I wanted something besides just a paper that still incorporated research. I also wanted to integrate technology. This project was excellent. It is paced exceedingly well, introducing students to the subjects before they jump in to full research. The directions, materials, and rubrics are clear and easy to understand. My students worked diligently on this in class and were excited to present their finished products. They had a much better understanding of The Great Gatsby after researching the provided topics. Prep work for me was very minimal, and the instructions / rubric made it super easy for me to grade (I LOVE a good rubric). All in all a GREAT product that my students and I both enjoyed. I will definitely use it again next year. THANK YOU!" Jamie S.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"This was a fun, creative, and educational activity to help introduce our unit on The Great Gatsby!" Mary F.
