What educators are saying
I adapted this toward the end of the memoir, with students creating a poster of their glass castles and a one-pager to accompany it. I hung the posters in my classroom. Most students really enjoyed diving into a place that was special to them and did well on this.
Description
After reading The Glass Castle, students will create their own "castle" based on personal experiences. FILE IS EDITABLE.
The assignment requires students to write a description using a checklist. They also need to create a visual and present their creation to the class.
A grading rubric is provided that assesses the written work, the visual, and presentation.
