This is a webquest activity that has students analyze six different accounts of the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, and find similarities and differences amongst the accounts.
The accounts of this event are in a variety of formats, from multiple sources (articles, videos, primary sources, etc.).
Students will determine whether each document is a firsthand or secondhand account, the author's purpose, and analyze for important details/information.
In addition to supporting the common core informational text standards involving multiple accounts of the same event/topic, this product also supports common core informational writing standards. Included with this product is a text-based writing prompt and planning sheet, requiring students to inform about Amelia Earhart and her disappearance.
