The Church Wields Power - European Middle Ages (500 - 1200)
- Google Slides™
Description
This interactive presentation provides details regarding how church leaders and political leaders competed for power and authority. Today many religions still voice their opinions on political issues. This presentation covers the scope of church authority during the middle ages, church structure, religion as a unifying force, church justice, the church and the Holy Roman Empire, Otto I, clashes with the pope, showdown and Canossa, Concordat of Worms, Frederick I, German states remaining separate, among other things.
I've created many interactive Google Slides presentations. If you like this one, know there are many others.
You can use these in your classroom and/or post on any LMS (learning management system). I use this with Google Classroom and "give each student a copy." This allows each student to type in their answers individually. When they're finished, they simply click "TURN IN." These can also be printed off for students who prefer to hand write their answers in the boxes provided versus clicking and typing. You can also use these for direct instruction, where the students simply answer the questions through class discussion or on a piece of notebook paper. However, the best way to use these is with technology, where each student can interactively enter their answers into the presentation itself.
I spent a lot of time on each of these. They're colorful and concise. My students love them!
