Why am I qualified to write these mysteries and inference activities? Not only have I worked as a Language Arts Teacher for 30 years with a Highly Qualified Status, but I also have spent 15 years writing state and national assessments, such as the SATs, ACTs, and individual state assessments that align with the Common-Core standards. This includes grading, item writing, and passage writing for these assessments.

Because these activities include inference activities and improve reading comprehension, they are a fun way to help students prepare for state testing such as Georgia Milestones (GMAS), TNReady (TN Ready), FSA, NWEA Map, Smarter Balanced (SBAC), ILearn, PARCC, Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), TerraNova, Texas STAAR, Engage NY, Ohio's State Test (OST), Azmerit, Act Aspire, Virginia Sol, PSSA, Oklahoma Test Prep (OSTP), NC EOG, SC Ready, MCAS, CAASPP, and others.
