What educators are saying

I did this with my English 11 kids as a fun class activity on Halloween. They really enjoyed it and it was easy to give them.
My students had such a great time solving this mystery! It was great to see them engaged during the last week of school, they are usually beyond caring. Not this year! Thank you!

Description

Explore the rooms of BloodWorth Manor as you gather clues to solve the mystery of the ghost bride and free the trapped souls of the manor in this exciting classroom murder mystery game. This engaging classroom mystery game gets students moving and talking as they work together to collect clues.

A fun murder mystery game to play in the classroom made for middle and high school students. Students play detective in this murder mystery whodunit, with five rooms full of clues to explore. Easy for teachers to facilitate and setup... simply print out each room's clues and let students have fun playing detective. Play as a seasonal Halloween activity, as end of year or back to school game, before Thanksgiving/ Winter/ summer break, as teambuilding, or whenever an engaging classroom activity is needed.

Begin with a fun presentation full of thrills and spooky sounds. Students will role-play as the lucky inheritor of BloodWorth Manor while playing detective, gathering clues, and solve the mystery. This game is excellent for practicing: teamwork, problem-solving, reading comprehension, summarizing, inferencing, drawing conclusions, and critical thinking. Great for Halloween or as an engaging anytime classroom game.

You log into your e-mail and find a message from a law firm called Bram, Bates, & Regan. They say you have inherited an old family mansion from a distant uncle you don't remember having. Hmmm... it couldn't hurt to check it out. You drive deep into the countryside as the weather grows worse and worse. The old manor has been empty for years... then why do you think you see a face in the upstairs window? What was that old story you heard about a bride murdered in the manor just before her wedding day?

Better get your courage up before you enter the manor. After all, who knows what mysteries and terrors await you inside the walls of BloodWorth Manor?

Ages: This game is intended for upper middle school and high school students.

Number of players: This game will work for any number of players. You can print out more than one set of clues for each room if playing with a large number of students.

Gameplay: 90-120 minutes. Students with lower reading levels, ESL, and 8th grade and below may require more time to move through the rooms of the mansion.
