Description
Students will learn about the Black Death (Plague) by reading a primary source with 17 questions and 5 creative tasks (creating a museum exhibit, making "Warning: Plague Here" signs, discussing how people would rebuild their town and lives after such devastation, and more!). They will also compare and contrast 4 brief sources and will work through a reference sheet and review (a page and a half to read and 8 comprehension tasks including putting maps in chronological order, writing news headlines, considering point of view, analyzing primary source quotes, writing a retrospective piece, and writing sample test questions).
These would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate! See the preview for a closer look!
Sample questions include:
--Inferring from the text, why did some people rush to religion and others turn away from it as the plague spread across Europe?
--Explain why it seemed as though all semblance of law and order had disappeared.
--What was the cruel policy that all the living adopted?
--There was a group of people who believed in a middle ground, what did they do?
--How was the plight of the lower and middle classes even more pitiful to witness?
--Using context clues, who or what was a porter?
