Description

This 6 part script on the Social Studies topic The American Revolution involves students in reading, rehearsing, and performing a script that reviews and reinforces a comprehensive amount of content knowledge. The script is written so that a whole class (or several different classes) can have solo and unison speaking roles.

Reading and rehearsing the script reinforces concepts and vocabulary while also increasing reading fluency and engaging students in a dramatic approach to learning facts. Students enjoy creating and performing gestures and sound effects where indicated in the stage directions. And--because it is a script--they do not mind reading and re-reading the information. Rosalind Flynn offers this Curriculum-Based Readers Theatre script--one of many she has created with students and teachers across the United States.

For more details and tips about using these scripts with students, you may want to download the FREE copy of "CURRICULUM-BASED READERS THEATRE: A Guide to the Classroom Use of this Strategy" available in my store.
