Description
This 2 page, 50 question scavenger hunt follows Langston Hughes' short story in chronological order. Students have to find answers as they read or reread the story; they have to skim/search for details. This activity works well as either an individual, silent, directed reading or as a quiet partner, in-class assignment. It starts with a one paragraph background introduction to enhance comprehension. This lesson plan can also be given as a homework sheet or as an open book quiz. This is an add water and stir lesson plan, easy for the teacher and with a high effectiveness index for students. It keeps them on task and improves reading comprehension. A two page answer KEY is provided, making this four pages total. Please do not share the KEY.
