What educators are saying

I love this. Students need to know more than just how to identify text structures. I like that this provides practice not only with being able to identify characteristics of text structures but comprehension questions as well.
I have used this resource with both grade levels. t is a great center activity and my students enjoyed the race track activity.

*Bonus: I have also incorporated text features practice into several of the pages!

The following text structures are addressed in this project: Description, Compare & Contrast, Cause & Effect, Problem & Solution, Order & Sequence

I have designed this project to challenge your students to move beyond simply identifying which text structure a paragraph is written in. This project challenges them to answer comprehension questions based on the text structures, complete graphic organizers using information from paragraphs, generate their own paragraphs using information from graphic organizers, and so much more. The best part? Your students will be having so much fun that they won't even realize how much rigorous content they are working with!

Pages print beautifully in color or black & white.

This project is text-heavy and is best-suited for grades 4+. You can mix and match the pages that work best for your classroom and students!

Have fun with this project! You can have students complete the sections in centers, as a whole class, or in small groups. Get creative and hang up racing flags around your room!
