Text Structure Posters and Activities

Did you know that students who are taught nonfiction text structure are better able to understand the material as well as the author's message? I have explicitly taught text structure to my third graders this year, and they are now able to easily see the author's purpose as they read nonfiction.

This pack explains the five text structures in kid terms: sequence, cause and effect, compare and contrast, main idea/details, problem and solution. There are five colorful posters. Each poster explains the proper graphic organizer to use to summarize the information as well as the key terms that an author uses in each text structure.
