Description
Learn all about different tempos the fun way with this virtual dance party game for Google Slides! Everything from largo to presto! Have a fun dance party the Sparkles the Unicorn while learning all about different tempo markings including largo, andante, moderato, vivace, and presto. No prep needed and self correcting! You can play this game as a class either in person or fully virtual, or send in present mode for students to play on their own. Need sub plans? You're covered!
After a quick video review of each tempo, students will play the game where they select the correct tempo. There are 3 rounds and 15 questions total. In the first round, they be given the definition (slow, fast, lively, etc.) and audio example and must choose the correct tempo. In the second round, they will be given only a video/audio example and must select the correct tempo. In the third and final round, students will be given 2 video examples to choose from and must select which one is the tempo being asked for. I encourage my students to dance along with Sparkles to add to the fun and engagement!
If you choose to distribute to students to complete individually, I suggest publishing to web. (File>Publish to web>Publish) Then, just copy and paste the link. Tip: Add &rm=minimal to the end of the link to hide the tool bar so students can not auto advance through slides without answering correctly.
Please note, some districts block sound files that did not originate from within your organization from student accounts. If you plan to present this as a whole class activity from your own Google account, this should not be a problem. However, if you plan to distribute to students as an individual assignment and discover your district has restricted these files, please contact me at christinaleungmusic@gmail.com and I will send you the individual sound files for you to enter from your school account.
