Telling Time

Time - Telling Time with QR Codes - Task Cards (Differentiated)

This is a value packed differentiated set of 144 task cards. It includes all times in 5 minute increments (Common Core Aligned 2.MD.C.7).

If you are teaching time to the hour, half hour, or quarter hour you can simply pull out the cards you need. The cards are labelled in a convenient way so they are easier to pull out.

Cards 1-12: Time to the hour
Cards 13-24 Time to the half hour
Cards 25-48 Quarter to and quarter past the hour.
Cards 49-144 All other times in 5 minute increments

The cards are sectioned off in the above order as well in case you just want to print one section of the cards.

You can break this set of cards up into the above sections for students in order to differentiate or they can complete all 144 times. Recording sheets are provided for each of the above methods.

These task cards can be used as a center activity, small group or whole group activities.

Students solve the problem and record their answer on the recording sheet. They can then use an ipad or other mobile device with a QR code scanner (e.g., Kaywa, Qrafter, QRReader etc.) to check their work. They simply scan the QR code and the answer will pop up.


Recording Sheets and answer key are included.

***NOTE*** You do not need a mobile device to use these task cards but you do need a mobile device in order to scan the QR codes which provide the students with the answer.
