Focus lessons are designed to help students master a literary element in one or two class periods. Each portfolio includes 6 detailed questions based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and correlating charts to help students stay organized. The teacher can select the pace of the class by asking students to only focus on one section of the portfolio at a time, OR the teacher can differentiate the lesson by allowing students to go at their own pace. The purpose of the focus lesson format is to encourage students to think beyond the text and master a skill based on their reading.
