How to use in the classroom

Instead of the conventional anchor chart, use these Google Slides to teach the alphabet, 1 letter at a time. After going through the vocabulary, prompt the students to see if they can recall words with that letter and/or know how to form it properly. Have them write the words and practice printing on their whiteboard. You can use it with your traditional calligraphy program or on its own. You can send the Google Slides home for extra practice.

How to use with distance learning

You can use this activity with distance learning by using it during classroom Google Meets, or adding it to your Google Classroom. These Google Slides can complement your conventional letter of the day alphabet anchor charts.

My grade 1 team and I have used these slides for our French Immersion students, and it works great! Each day you model a letter, the kids practice writing them on their whiteboards and practice reading the words. The animated picture shows you just how to form the letter correctly. The kids love it!
