Targeted Phonics Instructional Booklets for Grades 2+ (BUNDLE)

This bundle includes booklet sets for different phonics and spelling rules. These booklets use various words (single-syllable and multisyllabic) to teach and provide practice for the different rules and patterns. Students will explore and practice the pattern through a mini-lesson, independent practice, and a partner game.

Each Booklet Has:

• A mini-lesson for the teacher that breaks down the rationale for the pattern, plus linguistic connections;
  • Example from a Mini-Lesson: Diphthongs are two vowel sounds that work together to create a new vowel sound. Diphthongs create a gliding vowel sound, meaning the first sound glides into the second sound, forming one new sound.
  • Linguistic Connection Example: Your mouth and tongue will change as you pronounce the diphthong. For example, the diphthong oy requires you to put your lips in one position for the long o sound, and then move your tongue up to slide into the /y/ sound. The shape of your mouth and tongue position will change when pronouncing this new sound.
