What educators are saying

I used this game as a fun review/reward at the end of the chapter in our textbook. Students enjoyed the "luck" aspect to the game and chuckled at their fates!
My kids really had fun playing this game! I loved the reading comprehension practice the game required. Thank you so much for creating!!

Description

What a fun way to learn about the leadership, economy, and social classes in Medieval China during the Tang and Song Dynasties. My students love this activity. First, students read a two-page close reading about life and changes in government during the Tang and Song Dynasties. The reading includes a primary source excerpt and visual for students to analyze. Then, students get into groups and compete against each other in a displayed class game board in Google Slides or PowerPoint. Each advancing slide has one of ten comprehension questions about the social class informational text.

In a fun, creative close, students that answer the most answers correct in class get to choose a number that reveals their hidden destiny as a person alive in that era. The students get to read aloud who they were and details about their lives!

Includes:

✅  A two-page social class focused close reading

✅  A 10 comprehension question Google Slides game-board to display

✅  A PowerPoint option game-board to display

✅  An answer key

✅  A "choose your destiny slide" with fun social class destinies for winning students to discover what their lives were like as a "people alive during the era!"

This skilled-based Common Core literacy lesson can be done individually, in pairs or in groups! Teachers can simply assign in the Google Classroom. This works great in a Google 1:1 or on paper in Any classroom!
