What educators are saying

Great for our pirate day activities and gave me some new ideas on things I could do with my students.
We used this on National Talk Like a Pirate Day! My kids loved how their name was in each story. The personalization was awesome!

    Description

Ahoy, pirates! Pirate activities your students will love be in this here pack! Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19th, and this fun bundle of activities will be hit with your students. However, these activities are fun whenever!

    Pirate Reading Passages:

This resource includes 5 original reading comprehension passages that you can quickly and easily personalize with your students names!

    I've included two options.

    1. First, I’ve included one of each passage if you would like to give each student a different passage.

    2. Second, I’ve included a class set option. Simply type your students’ names in the table of contents once, and it will autofill into all of the passages creating class sets for up to 20 students. If you have more than 20 students, you can type in your first 20 students’ names, print, and then type the next students names.

These passages are written with first grader and second graders in mind, but could be used with kindergarten, second grade, ESOL/ELL, or Special Education students depending on student abilities.

    Titles Included:

    Swab the Deck

    Sword Training

    Climb to the Crow's Nest

    A Big Storm

    Dig for Treasure

I've also included 2 personalized covers that you can use if you'd like to have your students turn their pirate passages into a book!

    How to Prep

These passages are super easy to use and require very little prep! Simply type student names in the table of contents and the names will automatically fill in the passages. Print them out, and you’re ready to go! It's really that easy!

    What Do Students Do?

Each passage includes a short story for students to read, an illustration in which they are able to complete by drawing themselves on the blank faced body, and then 3 simple comprehension questions that students can answer by reading the text or looking at the picture! You can also have students color code the questions and where they found the answer in the story!

    Answer keys are included.
