Description

Maria Montessori emphasized that children need to know how to set a table- complete with how each utensil is to be placed on a placemat. Every culture has its own way to set the table and it is important for children of that culture to know this (like Indians generally place their drinking glass to the left or that they almost never use cutlery knife).

Hence, I made this product which includes the following:

  1. 28 No Prep Print, Laminate, Use Placemats- Select the one most suited to your and your child's needs
  2. Customizable table mat template in Google Slides- Teachers and parents can create table mats for children to suit their needs keeping their culture in view.

Placemat size: 45cm x 30cm

What you can change/remove in the fully customizable Google Slides template:

  • Utensil sizes
  • Color
  • Utensils present (modify it according to your culture)
  • Name of the child (You can remove it completely if you want)
  • Position of the utensils (move things around to suit left-handed and right-handed children and your culture)
  • Number of utensils (Remove the chopsticks if you don't need them. Add a dessert spoon by adding another spoon and changing its size)

This resource has been designed in such a way that it can be used by preschoolers as table mats and as a table setting guide for older students.

(If you would like me to do the customization for you (at no additional cost), please write to me at anindya.rkl@gmail.com or drop me a personal message. I can design it for you but you will have to take the print and laminate)
