Description

Preparing Students to Attend Live Theatre sets students up for successful and more meaningful theatre experiences! Discussions include: What is Theatre? What is Etiquette? The Golden Rules of Theatre Etiquette. Use this resource to pre-teach the protocols of theatre etiquette so your students are prepared to attend live productions with all the social graces of a regular theatre-goer! This also helps students learn appropriate social skills and gain more from their theatre experience.

Designed to be used with secondary students, this resource is especially successful with students who are attending live theatre for the first time or who have never learned theatre protocol.

PURPOSE:

  • Prepare students for the experience of attending live theatre
  • Increase background knowledge
  • Promote reflection
  • Foster critical thinking
  • Reinforce vocabulary about the genre of theatre
  • Help students empathize with live actors and understand how the audience helps or hinders them
