Dan Pink is an American author and former political speechwriter. He has written about several topics related to social science, looking at everything from regret, to sales, to motivation, to career choices, and many more. In this TED Talk he focusses on the large gap between what science knows about how people are motivated, and the ways most of our institutions (businesses, schools, etc.) attempt to motivate people. In the end, understanding how people are driven to do great things will hopefully allow us to understand how to get the best out of ourselves.
