Description

With this Drag and Drop Synthetic Division with Google® Slides your students will set up the problem and solve it by dragging fun numbers and symbols to complete the problem. Each variable, exponent, and symbol (like + or -) has its own color helping students find patterns, a very important skill. All divisors have one (1) as the leading coefficient. There are 10 problems.

Included:

  • PDF with links to the digital product.
  • Detailed illustrated instructions on accessing and sharing this resource with your students
  • Digital response sheet
  • Optional printable students response sheet.
  • Answer keys

Because each student has their own digital copy, they can also make notes on the slides and refer to them later for review. I have also included a directions page showing them how to drag the symbols and another slide with a completed example.

Students can work alone or in groups. This activity may also be used for HW or an assessment.

Choose and produce an equivalent form of an expression to reveal and explain properties of the quantity represented by the expression.
Understand that polynomials form a system analogous to the integers, namely, they are closed under the operations of addition, subtraction, and multiplication; add, subtract, and multiply polynomials.
Know and apply the Remainder Theorem: For a polynomial 𝘱(𝘹) and a number 𝘢, the remainder on division by 𝘹 – 𝘢 is 𝘱(𝘢), so 𝘱(𝘢) = 0 if and only if (𝘹 – 𝘢) is a factor of 𝘱(𝘹).
