Description

Your class will be highly engaged as they get our of their seats and practice identifying three types of symbiotic relationships (mutualism, commensalism, parasitism). Then, using the worksheet they'll identify symbitoic relationships to and decode a secret word. Movement and mystery! Your students will be engaged!

During this activity, students learn to associate the three main types of symbiotic relationships (mutualistic, commensalistic, and parasitic) with the symbols +, -. and 0. Moving around the room, students use easy to remember catch phrases and the symbols on their card to create pairs that match the symbiotic relationship term projected on the screen. They'll love this activity! Actively engage all your students!

After moving around the classroom to practice as a whole class they can settle back in their seats to work independently or in partners on the worksheet. As they identify the symbiotic relationship they'll collect symbols and use them to decode the secret word. They'll be motivated, engaged, and learning!
