What educators are saying
I used this activity with my CTE Robotics/Drone class for an embedded math lesson. It was a great introduction to the properties of vectors. Students found the lesson engaging and easy to follow.
Description
This study guide introduces vectors and vector addition. We use lots of large diagrams and grids to help the students visualize the vector concept.
The study guide is carefully scaffolded to help students gain a solid master of the topic.
We show how the numerical and graphical versions correspond for both vectors components and vector addition.
Quick multiple-choice review questions included at the end of the study guide.
Solutions are also included.
The pdf file has a LibreOffice file embedded for easy editing.

CCSSHSN-VM.A.1
Recognize vector quantities as having both magnitude and direction. Represent vector quantities by directed line segments, and use appropriate symbols for vectors and their magnitudes (e.g., 𝙫, |𝙫|, ||𝙫||, 𝘷).
CCSSHSN-VM.B.4
Add and subtract vectors.
CCSSHSN-VM.B.4a
Add vectors end-to-end, component-wise, and by the parallelogram rule. Understand that the magnitude of a sum of two vectors is typically not the sum of the magnitudes.
