The activities can be used for guided reading, shared reading, independent reading, math focus lessons, math centers, independent practice, guided math groups, and homework. You will be able to choose from FOUR different black and white math emergent readers. The mini books contain simple sentences with high frequency words and picture support on each page while covering beginning math concepts. Children can complete the practice pages independently after reading the books. There are math games and math drawing activities included for each book for added practice. Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately. Example: If you have 2 dimes and 3 pennies, how many cents do you have?
Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes, and describe the relative positions of these objects using terms such as above, below, beside, in front of, behind, and next to.
Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
