Description

Make number sense practice fun with this Subitizing War math game. With these subitizing cards, your students will get faster at recognizing ten frame, dice and finger patterns - but they won't even know they are practicing! They'll have so much fun they'll beg to play the game throughout the day!

By purchasing the entire 4-game Subitizing War Games Bundle, you will save 20% off the price of each individual game!

Subitizing War is a twist on the traditional card game "War." Instead of comparing numbers, players compare the number of items on their cards (by subitizing - or rapidly recognizing how many items there are). The player with the largest number wins the hand! The game can be played with pairs or small groups of students.

This math game includes directions and 130 game cards, featuring:

  • dice (to 10)
  • tally marks (to 31)
  • ten-frames (to 31)
  • finger patterns (to 31)
  • dominoes (to 31)

The cards are organized to help you differentiate for students or match your lessons:

  • by numbers (1-10, 11-20, 21-30)
  • by card type (dice, tally marks, ten frames, fingers, dominoes)

Save time by printing just what you need!

This game set is versatile. You can play numerous games with the cards, including:

  • Subitizing War
  • Matching Game/Concentration
  • Go Fish
  • Bang!/Kaboom!
  • Race to the Top
  • Trail Game
  • My Pile, Your Pile

Directions are included for each of these games. There are also storage labels for photo boxes and soap boxes.

The set also includes representations for 31, for use as calendar cards.

Finally, there are 8 worksheets for students to practice subitizing.

The Subitizing War Game will help your students strengthen their number sense skills and provide a solid foundation for future math skills.
