Structured Phonics Word Lists & Sentences are carefully created to follow an Orton-Gillingam lesson sequence. This is a great tool to use when lesson planning and to keep as a handy tool for when your brain just can’t come up with perfect example words! (This happens to me ALL THE TIME!)

Word Lists & Sentences Included in this set:

  • oi says /oi/ in the beginning and middle of words
  • oy says /oi/ at the end of words
  • ou says /ou/ in the beginning and middle of words
  • ow says /ou/ at the end of words
  • Tiger v.cv Syllable Division
  • Camel vc.v Syllable Division
  • au says /au/ in the beginning and middle of words
  • aw says /aw/ at the end of words
  • ow says /ou/ before l & n
  • aw says /au/ before l & n
  • Suffix -er used to compare meaning- more
  • Suffix -est used to compare meaning -the most
  • Silent-e Spelling Rule
  • r-controlled ir for "old" & "number" words
  • r-controlled ur for "hurt" words
  • ue says /u/ or /oo/at the end of a word
  • ew says /u/ or /oo/ at the end of a word
  • ea says /e/ (short) in the middle of words
  • ea says /a/ (long) in the middle of words
  • Turtle Syllable Division consonant-le count back 3!
