Description

This was my favorite sunshine book this year! My students loved it as well! With this product, your students will be ready to battle in Sunshine competitions or love dog books even more after this!

Teacher’s Guide:

Discussion Questions – 15 pages of Discussion Questions. Use this while you are reading the story to the class. Questions are at a variety level of rigor, and cover many standards. Answers are also included. I have also provided a place for teachers to reflect on discussions and to jot down vocabulary lessons that they might need along the way. Reflecting is a big part of being a highly effective teacher you know!

Drawing Prompts- Students respond and communicate through drawing easily! There are drawing prompts that will follow the entire story. Perfect for openers and recalling details. This is also a great way to incorporate art teachers and art lessons into literacy.

Dog Research Projects – The book discusses finding the right kind of breed for the screen. So, students will be given a chance to research different types of dogs and their qualities. The worksheet that students will use provide enough scaffolding to guide them in their research. I have also provided a table of 40 breeds for teachers to choose from for easy planning.

This product goes with the AR book: Strongheart: Wonder dog of the Silver Screen Level 4.1 Worth 2 points and Quiz #194405.
