A ten lesson unit with full lesson plans and some resources.
With this program your students will spend ten weeks learning to code their own story! The unit is primarily for junior to middle primary but has additional notes and resources so it can be used in upper primary too.
Week 1: Explore Computer coding
Week 2: Planning the story
Week 3-7: Creating the story
Week 8: Testing the story
Week 9: Fixing the stories
Week 10: Reflection on the unit
It also includes:
- Project outline (Lower and Upper)
- Planning templates (Lower and Upper)
- Feedback template
- Reflection sheets (Lower and Upper)
- Assessment rubrics (Lower and Upper)
I would suggest using Scratch Jnr or Scratch for the coding.
The unit would be best suited for Years 2, 3 and 4 but includes resources for it to be used in Years 5 and 6 as an alternative to my other unit "Coding a Computer Game" or in English as part of a Writing program.
