Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening (SA and Piano)
Description
The package includes the full score as well as a separate, reproducible vocal part.
This wonderful poem by Robert Frost describes the feeling of pausing deep in the woods, on a dark and snowy winter night. We experience a sense of peacefulness in the solitude there but we cannot linger long as there is still much to do and a long way to go before we can rest.
This song was written to allow the lyrics to flow naturally without confining them in strict rhythms; performers are encouraged to interpret the text in their own way, to feel free to rhythmatize it as suits them. The final Chorale, which was developed from a little round on the same words, requires good breath control for the long, smooth lines to keep them moving and not become stagnant. Although it is written for 2-part choir, Stopping By Woods can also be sung in unison, whichever works best for your students.
By purchasing this package teachers are entitled to make copies of the full score and vocal line to suit their needs; an mp3 file of the accompaniment track is also available by contacting Marzipan Music directly.
Please enjoy Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening and let us know about your choirs' experiences with it.
Performance time is approximately 2' 15".
