- PDF
Description
Take a Deep Breath! Starting at a new school can be intimidating, but I want to assure you that "You've Got This!" Understand that everything won't be perfect right away, and that's okay. It takes time to adjust to a new environment. My advice is to take it step by step, gradually incorporating your ideas as you settle in.
A vital aspect is to focus on developing a comprehensive school counseling program. The ASCA National Model is a valuable resource for creating templates and planning activities each month. To track your progress effectively, I recommend using SCUTA, a tool that helped me immensely by generating helpful graphs and data summaries.
I've provided a monthly checklist of activities I undertook during my time as a PreK-6th Grade School Counselor, along with some tips for each month. Remember that this list is merely a guide, and you're free to add your personal touch to the mentioned items.
Always remember, "You've Got This!" Wishing you the best of luck in this school year!
